Saw your link of Gap site and liked your commentary.
My Brother and I are working on our trip plan for this summer.
I see you have been to a few of our contenders!
    We are looking at:
    Africa (Kenya/Zanzibar)

We’re always up for a good adventure and like to go off the beaten path.
I’m worried Thailand may be too many drunken tourists and strip joints but would appreciate your input.

      Hi Jay

Sure there are parts of Thailand which are drunken tourists and strip joints but it’s also an amazing country with wonderful culture. Cambodia is a great place to visit (probably one of my favourites) and definitely a good place to see a more undeveloped parts of SE Asia. Haven’t been to the others but have heard good things about Borneo and I’m planning a trip to India/Nepal at the end of the year and it looks like an exciting place to visit. It really depends where your interests lie!

      Hope this helps a bit

    Hi Courts,

    Fantastic. Thanks for the input!
We’ve decided now on Thailand and Cambodia.
Looking at doing some adventure travel with mountain treks, snorkeling etc.
We like to go off the beaten path. If you know any good outfitters or can
recommend any adventure ideas that would be great. Thanks again.

I went through Cambodia with G Adventures which was great (I was travelling alone) but if you are going with a friend I’d recommend just doing it yourself with a guide book and organising shorter tours/activities along the way. That said I had an amazing time with G after not being entirely sure if I’d like group tours!

That’s a cool list, and not very different from mine! 😉

Let me know what you think!
