About Me

Who am I? When I’m not stuck in my everyday routine of studying and working you can find me on the road or planning my next adventure. I’m an Aussie which generally conjures a number of stereotypes while traveling but I like to think of myself as a pretty thoughtful person who loves to have the odd adventure every now and again.

I have a great love of all things Southeast Asia but find myself increasingly drawn towards new locations around the world. I’ve been incredibly lucky to be able to travel as much as I have at a young age and I’m increasingly frustrated when I remember how much of the world there is left to see.

As for the idea of my blog, it is a collaboration of previous blogs that I kept united by a single quote from “On the Road” by Jack Keroauc

They danced down the streets like dingledodies, and I shambled after as I’ve been doing all my life after people who interest me, because the only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones that never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the blue centerlight pop and everybody goes “Awww!”

I like to think that this describes my attitude to traveling a bit, that I will never settle with the ordinary but burn, burn, burn in all of my adventures. So that is why I am Mad to Travel.
